Jody Middleton DipION mBANT CNHC
Hi, I’m Jody. I’m a Registered Nutritional Therapist living in Kent with my husband and two children.
My mission is to use evidence-based science to guide and support you towards better health.
We are living in a world where being stressed is like wearing a badge of honour and sleep is for the weak. I would like to turn this thinking around and try and get everyone back to the basics of a happy life.
I grew up knowing very little about food and how it can change how you feel. So much so that as a teenager I developed eating disorders through desperately wanting to be thin and not knowing how to achieve this without simply starving myself or making myself throw up. This eventually led to chronic overeating and subsequent poor health until one day (and several years after it all started) I decided that enough was enough and I threw myself into reading about nutrition.
Reading turned into studying and although I was working long hours in a high-stress job in London I decided to start the 4 year journey it would take to become a Nutritional Therapist at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition.
Two babies and a move to Kent and finally a lot less stress I now find myself in my mid 30s and very happy with my health and although there will always be a flicker of disordered eating in the back of my mind I have such a respect for my body and what it can achieve through the right diet and lifestyle that I know going back to my old ways simply isn’t an option.
Through my clinic work I have noticed that there are a lot of women out there who have lost themselves. They’ve forgotten who they are, what they believe in, what they find funny, how to nourish themselves, why they need to bother with self-love. They’re in a job they don’t like, surrounded by toxic people but they don’t know how to get out of it. They provide, provide and provide for everyone else but do nothing for themselves and the one thing that keeps them going on one level, but is their absolute destruction on another, is FOOD.
Is this you?
You have come to the right place. Contact me via email, phone or my contact form and tell me your story. Let’s see how I can help.
I am a graduate of the Institute for Optimum Nutrition, as well as being a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). As a full member of BANT and CNHC, I abide by a strict Code of Ethics, provide proof of training and experience and regularly undertake regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD). CNHC was set up with government support to protect the public by providing a UK voluntary register of complementary therapists.
I am particularly interested in working with disordered eating (click here for more information) but other areas of interest include:
- Digestive issues
- Weight loss
- Hormonal issues and the menopause
- Energy and blood sugar management
